TRIAD BROADCASTING NAMES ROBERT LEONARD MARKET MANAGER
SAVANNAH, GA-HILTON HEAD, SC
May 2, 2005 Monterey, CA
and Savannah, GA-Hilton Head, SC: Triad Broadcasting CEO
David Benjamin today promoted Robert Leonard to Market
Manager of the company’s Savannah, GA-Hilton Head, SC
radio market. Leonard had been interim Market Manager
since December, and now officially takes the helm of the
seven-station cluster. Triad’s Savannah-Hilton Head
operations include All Time Favorites WLOW-FM 107.9
(Adult Standards); Gator 106.9 WGZR-FM (Country); Sports
Radio 1130 WFXH-AM; Rock 106.1 WFXH-FM; Wave 104.9 WWVV-FM
(Adult Alternative); Oldies 98.3 WGCO-FM; and 103.1 The
Drive WGZOFM (Classic Hits).
Robert Leonard’s promotion to Market Manager is the next
step in a highly successful radio career that began
twenty years ago at a small AM station in Lexington, KY.
Over the next two decades Leonard developed his
executive sales and management experience while moving
across a variety of southeast markets. He settled in the
Savannah-Hilton Head market four years ago, and had been
Director of Sales for the cluster before being tapped as
interim Market Manager late last year. According to
Leonard, “Savannah-Hilton Head is one of the best radio
markets in the country. We have extremely capable
managers, air talent, sales executives and staff. I am
proud to help guide our operations into the next phase
of growth.”
Adds Benjamin, “Robert has been a great interim manager
in Savannah-Hilton Head. He knows the markets, knows the
stations and understands the opportunities. He was a
natural choice to take the lead for this important
cluster of stations.”
Leonard’s promotion is effective immediately.
